I have been a diabetic for about 25 years now.
Diabetes must be monitored on a daily basis to remain as healthy as possible.
In the last couple of years I have had to go on insulin due to the fact the oral meds just were not working sufficiently enough.
The last A1C done in July resulted in a sugar level of under 7 which was good news. I go back again in November to have another lab test.

My mum has diabetes it runs in the family but it can skip generations so even now I have no idea if me or the girls are at risk.

I think it has something to do with the genes.
My dad had it , his mother, and her mother. Of the four children of my dad only one of us does not have it and he is a stickler for diet and keeping shape. That may be an issue. I do know that the proper foods can delay the onset of diabetes but you must stick to a very strict diet something I did not do sorry to say.

Not good news lately.....I must get my blood sugar down! I am thinking of eating nothing but veggies for the next few days.
